Andrew Marshall,

I saw your post on the CPD. I cannot post because there are gremilins in
my email with the CPD server....sysop can't figure it out, either. I am
an orchidist and got into CP's about a year ago. On the bark stuff. I
have always taken whatever! bark I get and give it about 2-3 minutes in
the microwave!!!! You can also soak batches in things like Physan 20,
etc, just to help kill off fungus and other bad things that might be
lurking. Not that one can be 100% sure, but these are easy steps. I
mentioned this in a side email to the original CPD poster, and also
mentioned that one needs to microwave plant media when no one else is
around....they might talk behind your back at the family picnic!! But
the microvave deal is a sure thing to kill all of the little wigglies
that take a microscope to see and lots of other little bad gremlins. If
you wish, your might forward this to the CPD as a helpful hint.

Kindest regards.
