Hello everyone, I'm back from a short trip to China, where I was
able to rest my mind a bit from all the studying for the master's course
entrance exam at the University of Tokyo. It was a fantastic trip, but
unfortunately no time to search for CP. Well, I would've searched if I had
found the right habitats! Anyways, the good news is that I've passed the
exams and should start the course in mid October. My Japanese language
intensive course will be over later this month and then I will be able to
begin working more intensively on my Brazilian Drosera DNA sequencing
project, though what I really need to do at the moment is concentrate on
publishing some of my new species of Drosera from Brazil which are already
way overdue. Sorry if I take a while to answer messages, but this month
will be quite a busy one.

As to the Drosera hybrids, I read a few messages talking about
D.filiformis X D.intermedia going dormant at odd times. It seems this is
characteristic for this cross, since I also observed this in my collection
back in Brazil (as did another friend of mine there). Our winters in Sao
Paulo are not very long nor too cold, which I though was the reason why
these plants would enter and exit dormancy several times a year, but now
that I hear you guys in temperate climates saying the same things I can
only guess it is normal for this cross.
As to D.brevifolia crosses, other than the D.capillaris X
D.brevifolia (which I've heard of but have never seen), Ivan Snyder from
L.A. told me he was able to cross D.brevifolia with D.dielsiana!!

Best Wishes,
