Nepenthes:flowering?

After what period of time will a Nepenthes flower? Will a plant flower
if it is restricted to producing lower pitchers by pruning, even if a
'mature' age is reached? Or does it have to grow on to produce upper
pitchers before it becomes reproductive? Is it true that a Nepenthes
first flowers roughly before or when it is about to produce its 'first'
upper pitchers as it says in Matthew Jebbs journal issue on New Guinean
Nepenthes? ( This journal is quite good and informative - line drawings
