Nepenthes seeds aren't always viable. Sometimes a plant produces
everything
but the viable embryo, and it's not easy to tell unless you examine the
"seeds" under a microscope. And sometimes the seeds which look fine
under
the microscope don't germinate--who knows why. So don't base your
success
or failure on one attempt with one batch of Nepenthes seeds.

Why did you have to cut it off? I ask because: If you cut it because
it is
diseased or turning yellow then probably it isn't a good candidate for
starting
a new plant.

I've never tried propagating Nepenthes using cut leaves only. I've
always
had some stem in the cutting material. So I don't know if you can
propagate
these plants from leaf cuttings, as you can propagate Dionaea.
