To all,

        I don't remember who it was (sorry!) that was talking about U.olivacea
a few days ago and who put up some pictures on the web of specimens he'd
found somewhere in the US.
        I really enjoyed those pics! They certainly resemble the plants I found
in Brazil a few years ago near the town of Diamantina in Minas Gerais
state. It's certainly hard to find unless you're on the lookout for it!
        Although it is one of the smallest Utrics, there is still one species
that is even smaller: U.biovularioides. I've found this rare species a
few times in Brazil and have written an article on it for CPN (I think
it was in one of the 1997 issues).
        This was the species (and not U.olivacea) that Peter Taylor referred to
as the smallest angiosperm in the world in terms of weight, but I also
can't seem to find where it was that he wrote this! It must be lost
somewhere in his monograph.
