   And the answer is!: Far too hot. All the plants you just mentioned
tend to do their best growing during winter, when it's wetter and cooler
in their southern climates. D.adelae doesn't quite fit with that group,
but I find they don't like it that hot either.

   Perhaps it is a clone which lacks the ability to make red coloration.
Most of the time the red color is anthocyanins, so most plants like this
are called "anthocyanin-free".
