Subject: Harmful prey

Hi -

Concerning daddy longlegs which rot VFT traps...

I've forgotten the name of the acid, but daddy longlegs (longlegses?)
contain one of the most toxic substances of any arthropod. Luckily,
their mouths are too small to take a chunk out of us (but I've heard
that aphids object strongly to them). This acid will kill VFT trap
cells, as will the formic acid in ants.
