For fungal problems, you might try adding 1 Tbs Baking Soda. We use the
soap/oil concoction for white fly and aphid control in a commercial
greenhouse range. We have only found phytotoxicity on some ferns, notably
maidenhairs. It kills whitefly overnight, aphids in a couple of days.
Spray to coat leaves, underside as well.
