Hi Loyd,

You are right about B liniflora ssp occidentalis being more difficult
than ssp liniflora, although I got adequate germination without
Gibberellic Acid since I only wanted a few plants.

Have you managed to get ssp occidentalis to set seed in the UK?
ssp liniflora often does it without help, but with ssp occidentalis
I found I needed the gigantea tuning fork trick to get any pollen
released and even then it wouldn't set seed.

ssp occidentalis is definitely more spectacular than ssp liniflora - it
seems to have some characteristics of being intermediate between
ssp liniflora and gigantea, although it is clearly not a hybrid.
