Subject: Worms

Dear all,
I have just noticed some worm like things living just below the
surface of some soil I have freshly seeded with D.spathulata. They
are around 8mm and have a small black head which makes me think they
are some kind of gnat larve. They seem to live just below the surface
and pop up to eat algae of the side of the pot. Dose anyone know what they are and if
they will harm my seeds.
Yours,
JoHn
