Some questions...

Dear All,

I know this has probably all been covered before, but I'm fairly new, so
excuse the repetition 8-) ;

Anyway, a few questions ;

(1) Does anyone have an IUPAC name for gibberelic acid (so that I may attempt
to secure some from my lab.), or where would I get some in a typical urban
environment (ie: Oxford), chemist, garden centre? If none of the above, does
anyone know of the molecular mass, so that I can work out how much to add to
my quantity of water? I've been told 1ppm, but without knowing molar mass I'm
a bit stumped as to how to figure this out...(I'm using it to germinate
B.Gigantea by the way...) or am I making this too complicated?

(2) Any hints on how to germinate Drosophyllum? Does Pietropaulo's approach
of slicing bits off the seed work? Also, should I sow in early spring to have
stable plantlets in time for the summer dormancy, or late summer?

Have fun,
