Sounds like an original edition at $2000. That may be an entirely
reasonable price for a first edition in good condition, depending on
scarcity, and so on. Original or first editions are collector's items, not
books sold for reading and reference.

There probably are reprints available, and if so, the $20 price sounds in
the ball park.
