J.R.,
Different people let their VFT's go dormant in different ways.
Perhaps a big part of this is determined by where you live and what
type of weather you experience. I live in Phoenix AZ and all I can
tell you is how I treat my VFT's during dormancy. This is by no means
the only way to go!

Gently uproot the plants, trim the roots to within 1/2" of the "bulb"
and lop off all the leaves even with the crown. The leaves can be used
to start new plantlets. Dust the bulb with a fungicide (optional) and
wrap in moist but not wet sphagnum. Place the wrapped "bulb" in a poly
bag and place the bag in an air tight container and place the container
in the fridge for 3-4 months. So far this has worked very reliably for
me. Hope this helps you out. By the way, what part of Arizona are you
moving to? As far As I know there are only two or three persons from
the AZ desert subscribed to the list.
