Although I don't recall ever having spider mites on any of my CPs, they can
be serious trouble to other plants if not controlled. Treatments with a
soap solution misted every ten days (the breeding life cycle) for at least
four applications works for me. There are other methods and I would like to
hear them all.

If left unchecked these mites will kill most any plant. If you can see the
webs with the naked eye, you have a badly infested plant and surely any
plant near it is also infested. Most likely the grower has carried the
mites to other plants, unbeknown, through regular grooming and care. I
dread the buggers.
