I have seen a pure green N. sanguinea in the Cameron Highlands of Pen.
Malaysia that exhibited these eyespots. No N. reinwardtiana is supposed to
exist in this area. This plant is now growing in my greenhouse and still
exhibits these eyes. However the eyes are at 180o to each other on the sides
and near the bottom of the waxy zone.

Also it seems that N. reinwardtiana does not give much character to natural
hybrids in the wild except to make the hybrid larger. I have seen hybrids
with N. gracilis in Sumatra that looked like "Giant" N. gracilis, and they
had the spots too.
