Cranesville Swamp

There was an interesting article in the Washington Post
on Wednesday, Sept. 13, 1995, Section H, on the Cranesville
Swamp. The Cranesville Swamp is located along the Maryland-West
Virginia border and run by The Nature Conservancy. It is
a "relict" of the Ice Age. Among its denizens is the
"round leafed sundew". The swamp is located just south of
I-68. To the east, near Frostburg, Maryland is another
Nature Conservancy run site, the Finzel Swamp. The nearest
Nature Conservancy office is located in Charleston, West
Virginia and can be reached at (304)-345-4350.
