Steve,

BACPS will be putting on the 6th Annual Carnivorous Plant Show and Sale,
sponsored by the Palo Alto Junior Museum and Zoo, on Saturday, July 15,
from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. It is an event I started several years ago as
part of an educational exhibit on CP to expose local kids about CP. The
big attraction is the sale, which is intended as an opportunity for kids
(and others) to obtain CP that are not normally available in local
nurseries. We also have displays of mature specimens, "visiting experts"
from the club to answer questions, hands-on models illustrating the
trapping mechnisms, posters, and the PBS video "Deathtrap."

The PAJM&Z is located at 1451 Middlefield Road (near Embarcadero Road),
Palo Alto, California, (415)329-2111.

Any BACPS member who is willing to volunteer as a visiting expert is
encouraged to help. There are always lots of visitors seeing CP for the
first time, and it is rewarding to see their faces light up as you explain
about the plants. Contact me at gwong@raychem.com.
