My name is Juerg Steiger, born 1938. I am working as scientific resident
(head of division) at the Institute for Medical Education, University of
Bern, Switzerland.
My CP interests are mainly focused on Pinguicula species of the
(sub)alpine, (sub)arctic and moderate climate zones. Cultivation of those
species is very delicate and considerably more difficult than most
(sub)tropical species. For the next years my main interests will focuse on
the different ploidy populations of P. hirtiflora (2n=16, 2n=24, 2n=32,
2n=48), on P. macroceras (USA,Canada,Russia,Japan) and on the yet
incomplete inventory of the hibernacula-forming Ping. species in southern
Europe. I am member of the ICPS, Dionee and IPSG.
