This is how I started out. Actually I had a 20gallon (long) and later
purchased more smaller tanks. I've "advanced" to a home-built terrarium
and outdoor bog growing. But I still have 6 ex-fish-tanks that I use
for growing. I have 4 ten gallon tanks that I over-winter certain
plants in (the basement), and more importantly to you I have a 30gallon
and a 50gallon that I use for permanent growth. The 30gal is mostly
used for seed germination. For each tank I use 2 twin 48" (shop)-light
fixtures, using two cool white and two Gro-Light(tm) bulbs. The 50gal
also gets some sunlight. I have a layer of sphagnum moss (3" deep) on
top of a layer of peat moss (3" - Canadian). You can put many plants in
this set-up, and have quite a variety! For starters you might try some
"beginner" plants: _Drosera capensis_, _D. capillaris_, _D. binata_,
_D. peltata_, _S. purpurea_, _Dionaea muscipula_ <- The Venus Flytrap,
_Drosera filiformis_, certain _Utricularia spp_, possible _Cephalotus
follicularis_, etc.

Some of the above listed plants have a dormancy periond during the winter
months, but each person does things differently. Some folks are successful by
just shortening the timer length, others remove the plants and store the
rhizomes in the refridgerator. It all depends.

Remember, these plants are small (excluding certain _Sarracenia spp_) and you
can put MANY plants inside a 60gal tank!
