Barry - thanks for posting the CITES info. I had a brief chance to
look through the list at Cambridge University Botanic Garden a few
weeks ago, but there was only one copy, so I couldn't take one.

It seems that a number of our CP are on Appendix I (the most
restricted), while most of the rest are in Appendix II (slightly less
restricted). I wonder if we could bother you further to summarise
what the regulations permit/forbid us from doing with the species on
the two Appendices? Does everyone know what CITES stands for?
Something like "Convention on International Trade in Endangered
Species" - note the 'International' - does it apply to trade within a
country?

I see that Nepenthes rajah is on App. I. I remember a lot of
discussion a while ago about a number of our subscribers sending for
plants of this species. I know they were propagated in cultivation,
but is trade in them not STILL forbidden, without a rarely granted
permit?

I'm interested in this from the point of view of Cacti and Succulents
also, as I have quite a number of seed raised App. I species, and
don't really know if I am allowed to sell them, even at our local
Society meetings.
