Darlingtonia bogs

Hi there!

I just got back from a vacation to Oregon and I had some
interesting side trips. Near O'Brien Oregon there is a
wonderful bog of Darlingtonia pitcher plants and they
are all blooming right now. Very marshy, and very accessible.
They grow in the middle of small stream beds coming down
from the hills.

I also visited Darlingtonia Wayside just north of
Florence Oregon. It was surprisingly small, but all the
plants were blooming. The bog near O'Brien was much
better and, I'm told, if I go a little earlier in the
year, I can see pink ladyslipper orchids blooming in the
same area as the Darlingtonia.
