Shing Lam: The trip to Selby gardens is at most about 1 1/2 hours from
Tampa, roughly 2 1/2 hours from Orlando by car. My knowledge of plants
is largely limited to CPs, but to an untrained eye they seem to have a
fairly nice place. As to CP, Selby has very few on display, only N
bicalcurata and N. veitchii as of two weeks ago. On May 21, the Tampa
Bay CP club will be touring their greenhouses, supposedly they have over
75 Nepenthes in their collection. In my experience they have not been
particularly friendly. Otherwise there are plenty of tourist places
such as Cypress Gardens and Sunken Gardens etc etc, but none that have
CP as far as I know. Now, (the good part) in the Orlando area you are
within the range of S. minor, all kinds of Utric's (well not all kinds),
and D. brevifolia, capillaris, and intermedia, and P. pumila, caerulea,
and lutea. I have seen S minor within half an hour of Orlando, closer
if you are near the Disney hegemony. There is even a claim that S.
minor can be found a stones
