In the orchids newsgroup, there is a lot of praise for a new book,
_Micropropagation of Orchids_ by Arditti and Ernst. Some of their
procedures and techniques should be applicable to CP.

Here is a recipe for 'keiki paste' from the book, as posted by
Allen Wachtell from the orchids group:

"They also give recipes for several Phalaenopsis keiki pastes.
Fully developed inflorescences, either with buds or open flowers,
give the best results. Remove covering bracts and apply paste
twice during a 1-3 week period.
Vaseline 44.0gm, cetyl/stearyl alcohol 9.0gm, paraffin oil 5.0gm,
Tween 40 2.0gm, BAP (benzyl adenine) 0.3-0.5gm, water 40.0gm.
or
Lanolin paste containing 1500ppm BAP.
or
Lanolin paste containing 5mg BAP plus 50 mg trans-cinnamic acid.
BAP is a cytokinin and tCA is an antiauxin."

'Keiki paste' has been used to induce side-shoots from Nepenthes stems.

Here is a phone number for getting a catalog of greenhouse supplies:
1-800-4GEIGER

There is a book I saw in a local bookstore last weekend,
_Internet: Guide to Mailing Lists_. There was about a 1/4 page
segment with info on our CP group.
