Barry had a number of Pings in his greenhouse, most were North American.
His S. American taxa were elsewhere and I didn't see them.
Barry's Nepenthes collection is stuffed into a 20 gallon "tall" tank in
his office. These are not his favorites, but they nevertheless were doing
quite well, especially a large N. ampullaria 'red' and an N. X superba (this
hybrid appears very similar to N. maxima).
So, Barry and I had an intriguing get-together! And we had fun scaring the
natives with our loud and bad Brittish accents as we discussed the finer
details of Genlisea trap mechanisms! Ok, you had to be there :-)
