I heard of some people who went on a plant collecting trip to west Texas
and got badly bitten-up by cone-nose beetles. How are they semi-mythical?
Are these the same as the "kissing beetle", which in the tropics carries the
deadly Chagis disease (believed to have done-in Darwin, and now keeping much
of Paraguay uninhabited?)
