Of course in some CP flower color can be variable within a
species, can it not?

Mine are definately light pink. I don't recall seeing
_D.aliciae_ flowers so I can't compare them. Note however that
I am color-blind, so "pink" may be somewhat relative. The color
is definatley light however. By contrast, the venation in P.
caerulea (sp?) I consider to be "dark" purple.

Pardon my ignorance, but what does coriaceous mean?

I'll try to save some seed. If I do I'll mail you some.
