Subject: Volunteer workday in Alabama

Hey Folks,

If you are willing to volunteer long hard hours working in central Alabama
anytime between November 27 and December 9, contact me. The Alabama
Natural Heritage Program has a big volunteer workweek extravaganza planned
for that time.

Expect to work hard, sweat harder, and have a good time. The description
for the event (written by the work-event leader) reads as follows:

"...a fabulous opportunity to help restore and protect a
rare plant of Alabama's natural heritage. Flex your muscles in privet
pulling by chaining with the tractor or using a weed wrench. Pounding
fence posts, pulling barbed wire, and hanging gates needs a group effort,
or else I'll be working there forever! Removing sapling trees and
herbiciding the stumps provides quick recovery for severely suppressed
plants. Besides, the lopping and plopping burns calories and builds arm
and shoulder muscles. Free workout. There's a job for every age and
ability. Bring your favorite tool(s). Come one day, come all days, work
as many hours as you wish. Lunch provided."

Sounds great. I wish I could be there for it!

Barry
