Subject: Huge Davis Blowout Sale!

Hey Folks,

It is a little early to tell you about the Annual Plant Sale we do at
the University of California at Davis, but I'm going to be gone for about
a month and I wanted to remind folks about it.

The plant sale will be October 7, in Davis California (about an hour or so
from the Bay area in good traffic; those travelling by photon should
budget about 0.0005 sec).

We will be offering an excellent selection of plants, mostly Sarracenia,
Nepenthes, and Drosera. Oddities like Genlisea and cultivars like
Utricularia 'Cthulhu' and Utricularia 'Yog-Sothoth' will be available, and
this year marks the first that we will be selling Aldrovanda from Japan,
two Australian sites, and Poland (along with suitable companion plants
such as Utricularia inflata).

The plants are priced to sell. The show is huge (it feels like a rock
concert) and actually carnivores are just one facet of the event. Sorry,
but we do *not* do mail-order---one reason the plants are so cheap is that
it is done on a very simple basis. Proceeds go to the UCDavis Arboretum
and UCDavis Botanical Conservatory.

I can provide details in late September/early October. For now, just look
at: http://greenhouse.ucdavis.edu/conservatory.htm

Pictures from the last year's event are on line at:

Notable people in these pictures include myself and Beth Salvia (looking
goofy in lab coats) and John Brittnhacher (see him in a big hat in

MARK YOUR CALENDARS!

Barry
