Subject: non-profit and web site update

Hi Folks:

Just wanted to let you all know that Meadowview has submitted its
non-profit application to the Internal Revenue Service on 12/2/99.
We hope to have official word on our application within two months.

I would like to invite you to become a member of Meadowview and support
our active pitcher plant and associated plant and habitat conservation
and restoration efforts. Since the end of the year is in sight a tax
deduction may be particularly worthwhile. We need your support to
continue this effort. We have done several pitcher plant reintroductions
to date (S. jonesii in North Carolina and S. flava in Virginia) with
field research throught the southeast. We have a very active season
planned for 2000 including more reintroductions with state agencies of
the above species, continued Sarracenia genetics work which will be
available to all on our web site, and environmental education of local
schools. I think when you look at all the work we are doing you will see
what a value you get for your contribution. As a member you are also
eligible for 50% off on the price of our plants. In the interest of
increasing our membership (currently over 50 people and organizations)
we are extending the 1999 membership to Dec. 2000. So join now and enjoy
member benefits while supporting important work.

We have a new webmaster who has recently updated the main page and
expanded the catalog. We will provide organizational information through
this web based media. Please take a look and stay tuned for new
information.

Thank you for your support!

Sincerely,

Phil Sheridan
Director
Meadowview Biological
Research Station
