Subject: Flytrap longevity?

How many years can an individual Venus flytrap plant last? How long has
any of you seen a potted flytrap survive? What's the evidence for
potential flytrap longevity?

A colleague working on his dissertation needs an answer to the
question. He has worked on a study that has followed flytrap plants in
the wild, and seen what appears to be the same individual appearing 10
years or more after it was originally observed (i.e. there are flytrap
plants in the exact same spots as there were ones recorded 10-12 years
earlier). As there are many factors making these findings questionable,
some figures from the controlled world of potted plants would be very
helpful. Thanks. Can take replies on my own e-mail,
