Subject: Dallas TNLA convention! I return victorous!!!

Well, I just got back from my trip to Dallas from the Texas Nursery and
Landscape Association convention. Got home at midnight, made it Dallas to
San Antonio in 3 and a half hours....my new record! Anyway...
Bad news was all of last year's vendors that had Carnivorous Plants didn't
have any this year. Northrops seems to have gone out of business, and
another one that did 2" pots didn't show up this year... I almost gave
up....

My sister in law, whom I now owe greatly, went to the show at 8:00 am when
it opened; I was late at 8:30. In those thirty minutes, one nursery who
brought 6 Nepenthes coccinea in hanging baskets sold them all for $13.50,
each! My sister in law got the very last one...and in my opinion, the very
BEST one!!! I'll have a picture of it on my page soon, but I had a heart
attack when I saw it! It has a good half-dozen plus pitchers on leaves over
12 inches long! I had goosebumps for over an hour. I couldn't talk sensibly
to prospective customers for our company! Never before have I seen such a
plant at our convention.... They hope to bring alot more next year since
they know they can sell them. They are wholesale only, and won't ship less
than 20 boxes of plants, 6 plants per boxes. They ONLY carry Nep coccinea,
so if you want 120 Nepenthes coccinea in hanging baskets that will run you
over $1,600, email me privatly. Thanks for the two people (I'ts midnight,
and packed my notes, so I can't give credit here) who told me where to find
CP's in Texas. When I go to pick up my wife Friday, I may leave Thursday to
check them out first, then head her way...afterall, I do have priorities!

Goodnight everyone, I just had to tell someone before going to sleep. Also,
a 3 and a half our trip alone makes you think...and I'm happy to say I have
come up with a new and much cooler name for my webpage...I'll be doing a
makeover soon!
