Subject: Watering VFT from top

Hi,

I really appreciated Tierney's comments about watering VFT's from
the top. I am a "newbie" to CP's, and have had three VFT's for about 3-4
months now. I got sort of mixed up with all the information out there on
VFT's, and planted them in a large glass bowl in Sphagnum peat moss with
a little sand. I water them from the top with distilled water once or
twice a week, and they grow very fast and have excellent color- they
look healthy, in any case. Then I started reading all about how you
should always water from the bottom, but I didn't really want to repot
them until this fall. So now, since I know someone else is having good
luck with top watering, I think I'll leave them where they are- since
they seem happy. I just watched one go from the small spring leaves to
the large summer leaves- how exciting!!

Thanks,

     Jamie
