Subject: P.grandiflora - La Baladosa

          Dear All,

After growing some P.grandiflora from the Pyrenees (La
Baladosa) for several years, this has been the first year
that a significant number of these have flowered for me.
Whilst some have the typical dark purple flowers, 3 plants
have pale lilac flowers which are smaller in size than the
typical flowered plants. Using RHS colour charts the best
determination of the colour of these pale flowered plants is
          as follows:

          Pale Flower
          background colour Purple Violet 80C
          veining Purple Violet 81A

I must confess that I found it quite difficult to use these
charts on such a non-uniform colour flower.

I am certain that I have passed gemmae of these plants on to
other folk on the listserver and would like to hear from
anyone who still has these plants and whether they have
          flowered.

          Regards

          Loyd
