I have seen the Venus grow 4 places, like weeds, in Florida. Outside
Sundew Bob's Greenhouse in Hudson, right next to the Gulf of Mexico.
Selby Gardens, touching Tampa Bay. Cocanut Grove, touching Miami Marina
and up on the Florida Panhandle along side the Inland Coastal Highway,
touching the Gulf of Mexico. Deduction how do I match these condiction
in a green house, or in my case on a patio? Any ideas out there.

If you can get starts from Flytraps already acclimated to Florida start with
those. Some I have raised for several generations in Central Florida seem
hardier here than those I have grown that originated in colder climates.
Other than that, you can grow a whole colony of them in a plastic tray used
for mixing cement (new ones only!). It is about 18" x 30" x 6" deep. Drill
several holes along the sides about 1 inch from the bottom and fill with 3/4
sphagnum peat and 1/4 sand (play or blasting). Four to five hours full sun has
worked well for me and in Florida leave them out all year, though if there is
a hard freeze I usually bring them in to keep all the leaves from dying to the
ground. This is for looks only, local freezes have never harmed them. This
method works well for Pings and Sundews too.
