Howdy folks! Peter here at California Carnivores.
Wanted to thank Barry for mentioning that yes, we do have the fabulous
Thomas Carow calendar. The cost is $38 plus our usual 15% shipping (5.70).
California residents should include the 7.5% sales tax. They're not only
wonderful for collectors, especially as gifts or trade, but teachers and other
educators would find them to be a permanent gem for the classroom.
This chit chat about New Zealand sphagnum moss caught my attention. To
my knowledge, in order to be imported into the United States, NZ moss is
sterilized and typically does not grow from spores once in our country. I have
tried many times. Domestic sphagnum moss will grow, but usually needs ideal
conditions to keep it going, especially in hot climates. The domestic stuff
usually comes from the upper midwest, particularly Wisconsin. It won't live
long in a hot house!
Tomorrow the crew from Home and Garden Network arrives to film a ditty
on us for Extreme Gardens, one of their programs. The Discovery Channel's kid
program was postponed due to film crew schedule. Th-th-th-th-th-that's all
folks! Peter
