Subject: Is smoking dangerous to your Nepenthes?

Dear fellow CP growers:

I have many nepenthes. They have been well until 2 weeks ago.

They began to change color and died within 10 days. Two changes

were noted. First, my new neighbor is a very heavy smoker. He smokes

more than 20 cigars a day. I can smell the smoking just beside my neps.

He moved here 45 days ago. Secondly, He uses pesticides to control his

bugs such as flies, mosquitoes and cockroaches. I do not know if my nep

take the poisonous bugs as a big meal.

My question is 1.Is smoking dangerous to my nepenthes?

2.Is pesticide poisonous to my nepenthes?

All the 25 nepentheses die within the same week. And all the cuttings which

I try my best to save them died afterward. None exists. It is heart-broken!
