For Andrew et. al.:

Some months ago Barry Meyers-Rice (conservation co-editor of the
Carnivorous Plant Newsletter) asked me to write a short note on
anthocyanin from the perspective of a chemist. I became so interested in
the topic that I expanded the paper to cover the biology, evolution and
biochemistry of this interesting group of plant pigments. The original
paper has been submitted for publication in the CP Newsletter (possibly
for publication in the September issue). A modified and expanded version
(it was stretched to cover the bromeliads) can be found at
http://www.fix.net/~cdills/specialtopics/anthocyanin.html.
