     Hello Niels,

I do not use bubbled tap water on my cp, as I feel it is too hard
(ours is typically 120 ppm CaCO3). Instead, I collect rain water, and
     sometimes we get precious little.

I use bubbled tap water for my aquaria. I keep a 30 gal plastic trash
can filled with tap water, with an airstone and a small air pump
running continually. As I mentioned before, it takes 36-48 hours for
the pH to stabilize from 10 to 7.4. (30 gallons of water can dissolve
almost half a gram of CO2 at normal atmosphere). You can get an air
pump and air stone at any aquarium shop.

     Regards,

     Mark
