Tony,

Welcome to the list. I'm from England where I can grow Sarracenia and
Darlingtonia easily but struggle a bit with some of the tropical
species. :-) The problem is not so much keeping the humidity and heat
high (you can achieve wonders with heaters and aquariums) but in getting
the plants to grow to maturity in our relatively short spring and
summer. We get around 4 - 5 months of really hot weather which means the
only way to get plants such as B. liniflora to flower is to start in
heat in the middle of winter and just hope the spring is early enough to
get the plants potted on and growing for the hot weather. I almost
succeeded with U. odorata this year - I had a lovely flower scape but
the cold weather hit just before the thing had flowered.

I'd be grateful of course for any seed etc you may have spare - I can
offer you Sarracenia seed in return although if you struggle with these
(and you must!) it will not be much use to you. IO am also editor for
the UK CPS journal and with this hat on I'm also looking for interesting
pieces from overseas contributors. I could also use some photos of your
native plants in habitat - these are always useful. Be great iof you
could help.

Can't think of anything else I can offer you (unless you are into
Praying Mantids) but if you can think of anything let me know.

Regards,
