Mike,
     You are most likely correct; the Playsand that I have seen sold
at Home Depot, etc., does contain Limestone and should certainly not
be used. It is important to check the label on the packages of sand
(and any other media, for that matter) before buying; they might have
additives.
     Go to a swimming pool supply store and ask for filter sand. If
the label says that it is 100% pure silica sand, then its the right
stuff.
