Subject: DS: Trip to Pine Barrens

Hi Susan,

It's great to see the plants in their natural environment. But I think =
circumstances change a lot so a one-time observation may not be that =
representative.
The Pings I've seen lately we're growing in very wet conditions. Water =
was flushing out of the rocks constantly. But the Drosera =
(rotundifolia/intermedia) I saw we're growing on a much more dry place =
then I expected. I've walked along the sphagnum and wet moorland, but =
didn't find any drosera, while very nearby on a grassy land I saw lots =
of them. The ground was very sandy (& hard) and I could hardly put my =
finger in it. It wasn't dry sand, but no traces of much water.

bye, Marcel
