I agree with Sean. Too many variables involved when trying to introduce
non-indigenous plants, even if they are the same species. Best thing is to
leave nature alone; the balance is too delicate. Successful repopulation
will require a lot more planning than just tossing seeds in the wind.

In regard to introducing more genetic diversity, better be sure the
diversity won't be detrimental. Adaptations to certain habits aren't
achieved by introducing new genes.
