Dear Dave,

I am just an amateur but I think that what you have mentioned may be
medium related. What type of potting medium are you using, please
ensure that you are not using any humus based peat? I would
suggest live spagnum for you Sarracenia. The hard water is a slow
poison but should not kill your plants in one week. Also, altered
lighting will only affect the pitcher colouration. Please ensure that
you have the plant pots in some standing water as dry conditions have
proved fatal in my experience with Sarracenia. Dear list please
correct me if I have suggested anything that is incorrect.
