Au Contraire Dave!
I mentioned a while back, during a discussion about the
flowering habits
of Nepenthes, a certain N.rafflesiana which used to grow in the garden
of a house we used to have in Malaysia. This large specimen was there
with many orchids after we first moved in, left by an old couple of
colonists who had retired back to England, and comprised both a male and
female shoot, the male being grafted onto the female one near its base.
Of course, I never found out about how this was done and, being very
young and not so familiar with Nepenthes at the time, thought nothing of
it. All I remember is the way in which kids would wash out the pitchers
in a swimming pool or under a tap, and then use them in their make
believe tea parties as fairies cups!!

Best wishes,
Alastair.
