Dear all,
     I agree with John Boehme on this subject. I an currently doing a 
degree in Environmental Management and have found that, world wide, 
most governments organisations are lacking when it comes to the 
protecting of habitats. Here in the UK there is little natural 
environment left, most cp live in upland and lowland areas of peat. This 
brings about a problem as the peat is mined for the garden and 
horticulture trade (us included).  Most protection of these sites is 
carried out by non governmental groups apart from the Ministory of 
Defence (MOD) who own lager areas of land with limited access to the 
public. The land remains unintrupted apart from the odd bomb blast 
whcih does a lot less damage than you might think.
