I'd quit worrying about it. This will happen when the traps catch
something that doesn't fit completely; the decaying material exposed to
the outside will cause the trap to rot as well. This also happens if you
feed it fatty meat (hamburger), which is why you should never do that.
If you feel like it, once the leaf becomes completely black you can
pluck it off for cosmetic reasons, it's not necessary.
