Hi Ben-

My experience with N. bicalcarata has been that very young pitchers
have very small fangs, if any at all. However, as the plant grows a bit,
the fangs should become quite prominent indeed. If your conditions are
good, this plant should grow fairly quickly for you. I have seen them
increase many times in size in the course of only a year.

By the way, fangs do appear on both upper and lower pitchers, with the
latter only appearing after the plant has gotten to be several feet tall.
This species has very large leaves, sometimes four inches in width, so
I hope that you have a large area in which to grow it.

Good growing.
