Hello everyone,
As a new member, I will give you my back ground.
I have been interested in CP since the age of seven when I
bougth a VFT on holiday. It did not last long due to lack of
understanding. I bought two more VFT between the age of eight and
eighteen both of which died with the year of purchase. Than I recived
a sp. of aquatic Utricularia in a package of tropical plants from
Hong Kong. I took over my fish tank making the survival rate of
new-born fish rocket. I still don't know what sp. it is as it has
never flowered. It has small traps less than 2mm and dies back in the
winter. Any way back to my CP life story. I fell in love two years
ago with a girl who has the same intrests as me. She was given a
Drosera canadensis plant by a botanist from Durham University (UK).
During her summer holidays her sister put the plant along with her
own VFT in the greenhouse where they where both baked to death. Her
sister insisted that she had been right to put them in the greenhouse
as the where tropical plants !?! Now I have started my collection
anew I have moved out of home to goto University and loads of space
in my new house. I will be moving the Utricularia in its 2ft tank
next month and I have already set up my first terrarium which
includes three sp of Drosera ,a single VFT and a single Darlingtonia
(which has got sun burn from being left in the consevertory of a
freind). This is only a temperary setup until I get more terraria set
up then I will move them into various groupings. Any way I'm off to
buy some more live sphagnum as it is the only type I have found I
Preston where I now live.
Yours JoHn
