I don't know any CP that will immediately shed all their seed the
moment the capsule opens, so waiting until it splits is probably OK.
If it's a problem, then you'll have to try to catch it *just before*
it splits. Harvesting prematurely is clearly unnatural, and is quite
likely to yield seed that won't grow.

In the case of Drosera, the seed seems intended to remain in the
capsule, presumably being shaken out over a period of time. Try
shaking the flower stem (still attached) over a sheet of paper,
and see if any seeds fall out.

I thought that my Drosera binata never set seed, yet I've got a few
volunteer seedlings here and there.
