Gardeners World Questions

For non-Brits, Gardeners World is a very old-fashioned, national institution type
television programme anchored by an incredibly amiable old chap called Geoff
Hamilton.

Geoff built a pond with a bog garden, into which he planted a Sarracenia
- at the time this was much scoffed at by members of the UK CPS. Can
anyone remember what type of Sarracenia he planted?

In Friday's programme, Geoff showed us round the bog garden and said
"everything's thriving". Did anyone spot the Sarracenia?

Geoff also demonstrated a new product to eliminate blanketweed, that is
"perfectly safe for animals, fish and other plants but kills all green
celled algae". Does anyone know the proprietory name(s) of this product
and its active ingredients? Does anyone know whether it is safe to use
with carnivorous aquatics?

BTW, did anyone spot that the Kew Seed Bank project, originally intended to be
bankrolled by government funds, has changed its name to include the word Millenium?
And at the same time, the national lottery millenium projects fund, a source "not
intended to replace government funding", is to thrust a huge wadge of cash at the
project.

(After the kindergarten metaphysics comes the juvenile politics)!
